Mexico faces a growing challenge with rising rates of obesity and diabetes. To address this pressing issue, the French Embassy to Mexico and Business France organized the sixth edition of French Healthcare Day on November 26. IPS proudly sponsored this event, which brought together health sector experts and government leaders to analyze the complexities of nutrition and diabetes in Mexico.
Among the attendees were key figures in the fight against these health concerns:
Dr. David Kersenobich, the recently appointed Secretary of Health
Macarena Montoya Olvera, Secretary of Health of the State of Mexico
Rubén Galaviz Tristán, Secretary of Health of Aguascalientes
Nasser El Mamoune, Director of Business France Latin America
Dr. Kersenobich emphasized the significant global increase in obesity and diabetes over the last 25 years. In response to this challenge, the Federal Government has prioritized prevention, aiming to reduce the prevalence of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity in the Mexican population by 5% and 10% by 2030.
This collaborative event fostered crucial dialogue and knowledge sharing, paving the way for innovative solutions to combat obesity and diabetes in Mexico.
